Innovators are the ones whose dreams are clearer than the reality that tells them they’re crazy.

Many of us have goals we wish to accomplish in our lives. Some are simpler than others. Some are extremely difficult. Some may even seem near impossible or like turning a dream into reality. It’s often from the constant effort and execution of attempting to bring to fruition these “impossible” ideas that the most innovation occurs. ECC is no different in this case. We know the tasks that we are taking on as a project are not simple and may seem impractical within a timely manner, but we assure you that we will continue to push the limits.

After all, who said that dreams can’t come true!

Dev Update

The devs have been working on a new daemon upgrade, version 0.2.5.12. Not only does this upgrade fix the ANS bug discussed in the last medium post, but several other fixes, such as:

  • Unspent outputs are now tracked the same way as BCH and BTC, removing the orphaned transactions issue.
  • A slight speed increase in transactions and syncing.
  • A slight patch leading up to the chain swap.

The coding is complete on the new daemon upgrade and dev testing is well underway. Once this the testing is complete and the new daemon has been issued, the community beta testing of ANS within Sapphire will begin shortly thereafter.

Also a shout-out to Dylan (@dolaned) for authoring his first ECC blockchain commit this week (with a few corrections by Griff), you can view it here. Basically, without this commit, we would have all had to fully re-sync the chain when upgrading to 0.2.5.12. Thanks to Dylan and Griff for saving community members from that hassle!

You will also notice a new sapphire developer starting to make some commits. Big welcome to Nick Zuccarelli! Nick has been doing some initial work on sapphire doing toast upgrades (which are basically pop-up error and success messages).

Hoard Voting

The last medium article discussed the ongoing vote for Hoard Exchange. That vote has been completed and ECC finished in third place. As a result, we are happy to say that ECC will receive priority coin support, being listed first and for free with the help of Hoard’s development team. See the announcement here. Hoard is anticipating going live in Q2 of 2019.

The Bull Pen Podcast Update

After a brief hiatus, Lyndon (@MrCryptoCarlton) will be back with three episodes in the next two weeks. This coming Tuesday is an interview with Blake Miles, former member of Team McAfee and a contributor to the Declaration of Cryptocurrency Independence.

ECC community members should pay close attention to the episode with Tyler Sanford releasing on Tuesday October 16th. For those who don’t know, Tyler is a former professional baseball player with the Los Angeles Angels, and has helped to raise several hundred million dollars for various crypto ICO’s. In the two hour interview, there is a lot of chat and brainstorming about ECC and how it could compete with the larger, more well-funded projects.

Also on October 16th, Preston Junger is dropping by the bullpen to talk to Carlton. Preston is a former Yelp VP and currently the Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Mile Square Labs — A global revenue agency focused on growing late seed to series-funded technology companies.

That’s all for now and we will see you in two weeks!
