from the ECC Team

We are all walking into uncharted territory. There are no blueprints to look at. There are no projects to reference. And there are no excuses that can be given. On behalf of all of the ECC team,

“We want to sincerely apologize for how the initial release of Sapphire was executed.”

With that being said, we hope that everyone understands that we as a family will experience hiccups, but this WILL NOT stop the ECC team from correcting our mistakes, improving upon them and moving foward. Time and time again there has been a disconnect in the cryptocurrency space between wallet functionality and ease-of-use and ECC is looking to bridge that gap in a major way. Every release serves as a learning experience and puts us one step closer to accomplishing this goal.

Since 1700 UTC on April 20, 2018 the whole ECC team has been working around the clock and we are happy to say that Sapphire 1.0.1 is currently in beta testing. We’re fixing bugs as we find them and helping testers navigate the process. Also, once things settle down and we’ve had the chance to go over everything we will provide everyone with a full report of the release. Until then, read below to see what the whole team has been up to this past week and where we are headed in the near future.

We appreciate everyone's support and patience!

Greg: Working on the new 0.2.5.8 daemon.

Cristiano: I have been working on bug fixing for Sapphire.

Devin: Sapphire development and support has been on the agenda. Working on building a continuous integration pipeline into Sapphire with Travis for automated builds.

Dylan: I have been hard at work supporting the release of Sapphire and working on its further development.

Sean: I’ve been working alongside the team to assist with Sapphire development and support.

Troy: Site updates were launched with the new wallet pages and resolved a few bugs in APIs to support Sapphire.

Lukas: Coordinating Arabic, Polish, Turkish and Korean translations for the ECC whitepaper and website. Sapphire translation will be coming in the future as well.

Wim: Working on getting onto other exchanges and in the early stages of exploring and planning out additional functionality for Sapphire that will evolve the wallet user experience (this will be revealed at a later date).

Peace,
Lyndon (@MrCryptoCarlton)
